Cul-de-sac,
2004, video, 5 min.
A
traveler is seen waiting at an empty railway station, while
in a different scene the same traveler is seen travelling
by a night train at full speed.
Shots alternate and these two conditions develop in the form
of two independent stories that do not intersect or meet at
any point.
The traveler is trapped in a timeless, enigmatic and lonely
space where both the station and train lose their real spatial
substance.
The question of the traveler’s emotional dead-end is
presented without any obvious hints as to a potential solution.
Going away or escaping involves no destination while awaiting
or anticipating is futile and endless.
